On November 8, a scientific seminar dedicated to the International Day of Radiology was held at the Educational-surgical clinic of AMU.

Professor Malakhat Sultanova, Head of the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Therapy, congratulated her radiological colleagues on the holiday and told the participants about the date of the event.

According to M. Sultanova, on November 8, 1895 Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered X-rays, effectively laying the foundation for the new medical discipline of radiology. It was first introduced in 2012, as a joint initiative, by the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR) and for the first time it was celebrated on November 8: “Radiology is one of the most advanced areas of medicine. Fortunately, the methods we use today make it possible to detect the disease at the molecular level and successfully treat it at the initial stage with the help of these rays”.

M. Sultanova spoke about the care and attention, shown by our state in this area, as well as in other areas of medicine and next year, an international conference was planned.

At the seminar, the participants met with interest the reports of Associate Professor Rasim Bayramov on “Radiology of the Temporal Bone”, radiologist of the Educational-therapeutic clinic Gunel Gambarova on “Inductive Pathology”, and resident Gultan Rafibayli on “Resistant Left Upper Vena cava”.
