July 28 - World Hepatitis Day

In 2010, the Health Assembly adopted resolution WHA63.18, called for the fight against hepatitis, and declared the World Hepatitis Day on 28 July.

As part of the World Hepatitis Day, various activities are carried out and the main goal is to inform the population of hepatitis and its various forms.

The World Health Organization calls on world governments to intensify their efforts to combat hepatitis viruses as part of World Hepatitis Day. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the various forms of hepatitis.

There are five main hepatitis viruses defined as types A, B, C, D and E, which can cause severe chronic diseases. Approximately 600,000 people die from hepatitis B, more than 350,000 people die from diseases associated with hepatitis C.

Prevention and control of the hepatitis virus: The Global Framework defines four areas for the prevention and treatment of hepatitis. Expanding cooperation and mobilizing resources is WHO s first priority in the new framework program.
