The role of vitamin D and platelets in Older People

With the warming of the weather, complaints of patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system grow. Not coincidentally, cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death of the elderly population of the planet. Diseases of the circulatory system rank first among causes of death. According to statistics, by 2020, the world s cardiovascular diseases will cause 25 million deaths per year. According to the US Institute of Health, coronary heart disease will account for 64% among the elderly men and 60% among older women.

According to Lamia Guliyeva, the assistant of the II Internal Medicine Department of Azerbaijan Medical University, many factors play a role in the formation of aging. She noted that in recent years, a lot of research had been done to study vitamin D deficiency in the human body: "The literature indicates that, depending on age, the increase in fibrinogen, as well as blood clotting, causes metabolic disorders associated with thrombosis. The formation of an intravenous thrombus plays a role in the development of diseases of the cardiovascular system, including IHD (ischemic heart disease). "

According to L. Guliyeva, in recent years, in addition to the factors listed above in the United States and Great Britain, the role of reducing the status of vitamin D in the body in the development of cardiovascular diseases was discovered. The formation of vitamin D deficiency causes diseases of the cardiovascular system.

It should be noted that in 2009 J. Condrick studied the role of vitamin D deficiency in the development of congenital myocardial infarction, and in 2012-2014, by J.R Chandhury and others the development of stroke as a risk factor for Q. Sun 25 (OH) D was discovered. Such factors play a special role as platelets in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases.

L. Guliyeva noted: "One of the most urgent problems is the formation of a vascular intravenous thrombus. Intravenous thrombogenesis is the basis of acute vascular and cerebral circulatory disorders, thromboembolism in cancer, early deterioration of pregnancy and other diseases. That is why antiplatelet therapy is especially important for aging and pathology with morphofunctional features of platelets in the central part of the hemostasis ".

According to L. Guliyeva, an epidemiological and clinical study of cardiovascular, arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis, diabetes, oncological diseases, changes in the immune system, allergic diseases, and autoimmune diseases has shown that a low level of vitamin D in the body is one of the factors contributing to the development of these diseases. The lack of vitamin D in the human body causes cardiovascular diseases.
